The platform aims to attract investors that are interested to invest their income in investment or pension funds TIRANA – The Albanian Stock Exchange ALSE has set up an online platform for the publication of data on openend investment and pension funds called INTRANET, the head of ALSE Artan Gjergji said on Monday. The purpose of this project is to create the possibility of having all the data about the quotas of investment and pensions funds on a single platform in order to make it easier for the public to receive general information, Gjergji said during a special ceremony organized by ALSE in cooperation with the Association of Life Insurers, Pensions and Investment Funds (SH. SJ.P.FI.) for the launch of the platform. The platform is a step towards increasing financial transparency, but also financial education, ALSE head added. The data will be uploaded to the platform by the management
companies themselves, on a voluntary basis, Gjergji said, adding that the provision of data in a standardized format and on a single platform makes it easier to compare them for investors and the interested public. Also present, the head of the Financial Supervision Authority (AFSA) Ervin Mete said that the new online platform is a step that increases transparency and facilitates information for investors. Speaking about the development prospects of the capital market, Mete said that the AFSA has as its priority the drafting a strategic document for this purpose. According to him, a working group that will draft the strategy is expected to be set up within this month. One of the first steps will be the evaluation of the parameters of public companies in order to enable the listing of some of them on the stock exchange market, following the model of the countries of the region.
The platform aims to attract investors that are interested to invest their income in investment or pension funds. The ALSE was licensed in July 2017, while it started operations in February 2018, with the trading of Albanian government debt securities. ALSE and the depository ALREG have met the legal requirements and have set up the necessary technical
infrastructure to enable the listing of securities of private companies.
