Albanian Securities Exchange ALSE holds a training seminar for Internal Auditors in Albania
The Albanian Securities Exchange (ALSE) attended the seminar organized by Albanian Institute of Internal Auditors on May 24th 2018, aiming the training of Certified Internal Auditors to perform their activity in the Republic of Albania.
During this activity, the Executive Director of ALSE, Mr. Artan Gjergji held a lecture for the audience with the main focus on the latest development of the capital market and the setting-up of Albanian Securities Exchange, which is licensed by the Albanian Financial Supervisory Authority on June 2017 and started its trading activity of Government Debt Securities on February 2018.
Furthermore, the lecture was focused in the close relation of capital market development and ALSE’s activity with the Corporate Governance Principles, among which, the role of internal auditor is in a great importance. More concretely, Mr. Gjergji stressed the necessity of the involvement of internal auditing process within two main stakeholders ALSE has a direct contact, such as Exchange listed companies and financial intermediaries specialized to trade in a stock exchange (banks and brokerage firms). Participants in this meeting were informed for the specific role internal auditors may have in the structure of the Exchange listed company as well as in the structure of the financial intermediaries trading at the Stock Exchange.
Internal auditors participating in this seminar were interested for more details about the procedure of securities issuing via public and private offering, prospect approval process from AFSA and the opportunity of the quoting these securities in the Albanian Securities Exchange (ALSE).
